As I was driving I listened NPR news and they were talking about a website called
Politifact.com.
I find NPR news to be a reputable source, so I decided to check the website out.
When I was listening to NPR it turned out that
Palin had said that
Obama was going to raise a sorts of taxes including income taxes, payroll taxes, the death tax, and business taxes by
hundreds of millions of dollars.
Politifact found that the Republicans were stretching the truth, the fact is that
Obama is looking to discontinue the tax cuts that Bush had given to those families earning above $250,000. It only includes wealthier Americans.
Palin also said that she told Congress "Thanks, but no thanks on the bridge to nowhere," but she
exaggerated her role. NPR stated that "once the bridge became known as the bridge to nowhere it became the most famous earmark and became a symbol of wasteful spending." Congress was already killing the bill by the time she said "Thanks, but no thanks," and Alaska still
received the funds that would have been
allotted to the bridge to nowhere.
I am not saying NPR news is always right, but I think they try to be as
unbiased as possible.
